Can I use student loan interest from a previous year that was not used

No.  But you may file an amended previous year return, if you only forgot to deduct it.  But, if you couldn't use it last year, you are not allowed to use it this year. It can only be deducted in the year it was paid.

No, you cannot carry forward unused student loan interest from a previous year to your 2025 tax return.  The student loan interest deduction is a "use it or lose it" benefit. According to IRS rules, you can only deduct interest in the year it was actually paid.
