Question

Why did I receive credit for exemptions and itemized deductions in 2017, but am only receiving a standard deduction in 2018? (e.g. my itemized deductions are ignored)

2017 deductions were 43% greater than 2018 since my 2018 itemized deductions are seemingly ignored by TurboTax.....

Under the new 2018 tax law, there are no more Personal Exemptions for Federal.

The standard deduction has doubled in 2018 so it’s likely that it was more than your itemized deductions which are limited in 2018.  Also there is no personal exemption in 2018.

Do you think you will have enough to itemize this year?  This year the Standard Deduction will be doubling so many people will be switching to the Standard Deduction.  And there is a max 10,000 limit (5,000 MFS) of property tax and state taxes "SALT".  And you can only deduct Medical that’s over 7.5% of your AGI.  Also the deduction for job expenses have been suspended.
