Question

Why aren't my Charitable increasing my refund?Cash Donations above the line, no itemizing, under $600 for joint filing, turbo tax broken?

That starts for next year when we do 2026 tax returns.  Not on your 2025 tax return.

The ability to enter a cash contribution when using the Standard Deduction is not available on a 2025 tax return.  That is available on the 2026 tax return being filed in 2027.

And it is up to $1,000 of cash charitable contributions ($2,000 if married filing jointly) without itemizing deductions.

Ahhh...yeah....the $300/$600 charitable deduction for non-itemizers was only for two years, 2020 and 2021.

 

...as already noted by others

The new $1000/$2000 doesn't start until 2026 taxes are filed next year.
