We took a 2014 Residential Energy Credit for a solar tank; does this credit affect a 2019 claim for an energy-efficient garage door?

Filling-out the tax form, I'm wondering: do I need to claim that 2014 credit for the solar tank? The question seems to ask if I ever took a credit for anything.

You need to include the amount of the credit you received for the solar tank.  You can claim a tax credit for 10% of the cost of qualified energy efficiency improvements and 100% of residential energy property costs. This credit is worth a maximum of $500 for all years combined, from 2006 to its expiration.

Thank you for that clear response. It seems ridiculous, doesn't it, that no matter how many different (or costly) energy improvements we make to our home, the cumulative lifetime credit doesn't change.  But, at least I know how to treat it. Thanks again.
