We installed an electric heat pump water heater that qualifies for the Energy star $300 tax credit. Where do you enter this information?

Electric Heat Pump Water Heater
Most ENERGY STAR certified water heaters meet the requirements of this tax credit. Water heaters account for 12% of the energy consumed in your home.

Tax Credit Amount: $300

If your heat pump water heater qualifies, follow the following steps to enter your information in TurboTax Online:

If you don’t see 2022 TAXES in the left pane, scroll down and select the dropdown to the right of Deductions & Credits and select Let’s get started, Pick up where you left off, or Review/Edit.

Otherwise, in the left pane, select the dropdown to the right of Federal, then select Deductions & Credits

On the Your tax breaks page, scroll down and select the Show more dropdown to the right of Your Home
Select Start or Revisit to the right of Home Energy Credits
On the Energy-Saving Home Improvements page, select Yes in answer to the question, Did you make energy-saving improvements in 2022 or have a carryforward from 2021?
Scroll through the pages until you get to the Tell Us How Much You Paid for Energy-Saving Improvements page, and enter your amount in the Energy-Efficient Building Property field. Select Continue
Continue through the energy credit screens

I don’t see energy efficient heat pump listed as a credit in turbo tax. The only oneI see is electric heat pump water heater? The federal government list energy efficient heat pump installations as a credit also for 2022? Where can I enter this?

In the energy credit section for your home,

Click on the Learn More link next to Energy-Efficient Building Property
This will bring up a list of items to enter on this line including an electric heat pump
