I owe some back pay in child support but I have another child now so does my EIC for my youngest go to back pay is there anyway around that?

The way around it is to pay what you owe and get current with your child support payments. Then they won't take your refund for child support. As long as you are behind on the child support, your tax refund will be taken to pay the back child support, until it's all been paid.

You can adjust your withholding (W-4 at work) to reduce your refund. But once that gets's to zero, the IRS will keep the refundable portion of the EIC (and the Child tax credit) to pay your past debts
