My husband is self-employed as an insurance agent.  If he meets a certain threshold for sales in a given quarter, his health insurance premiums are partially paid by the agency he works for.  At the beginning of the year, he receives a document from the agency reflecting the premium amounts paid by him as well as the amount paid by the agency, under a column titled "1099 Amount."  Can we deduct the amount of premiums paid by the agency when they are imputed as part of his nonemployee compensation?

Yes.  If the amount is included on his 1099 as income, then yes, you can deduct the amount that is included in his income.
