I ordered a geothermal system in 2018, but installation wasn't completed until Jan 2019, when I paid the balance. Can I take the energy credit on my 2018 taxes?

Since the installation was completed in 2019 and paid for means the credit can only be reported on a 2019 tax return to be filed next year in 2020.
