I am a resident alien (substantial presence test), and I did not have any income except from a 300$ taxable award. I figured from turbo tax forum that i do not need to file tax for this award. However, I just receive a form 1042 S from my bank with the income amount of 2$. The tax rate on the form is 0, and the box 7 and 10 was empty. With this, i still don't need to file tax right? Just want to make sure.

@Kkyros , generally I would agree that you probably do not need to file, except that I am not sure  about your  status.  What visa are you on? when did you enter the USA? was this your first entry? which country are you from? Do you have earnings  from USA ( other than the award -- for what?  and interest earnings )? How are you living here?  The more info you provide , more focused the answer would be .  Please ?

Thanks for the reply. I am currently a student with F1 status and I have been here 6 years, 2022 is my 7 year. I do not have any other earnings and I am living with help from parents.
