I bought a house in November of 2022. First mortgage payment was due Jan 1st of this year. Do I have to input the mortgage info for 2022 taxes?

No.

As you paid no mortgage interest in 2022, you do not need to input the mortgage information.

You may have paid property taxes (sometimes at closing) and those property taxes are deductible in @022 on Schedule A - Itemized deductions.

Basically, you will not get a 1098-Mortgage Interest Statement for 2022 since you made no payments in 2022. However, any interest you paid at the closing in 2022 is absolutely deductible. If you did pay interest at closing (you most likely did) that interest will be itemized as such, in the closing documents you received at the closing.

Do note that mortgage interest on your personal residence or other non-business use real estate is an itemized SCH A deduction, and it may or may not make any difference on your taxes anyway.
