Yes, you can deduct it as medical expenses. However, your refund will not change unless all your medical expenses is above and beyond 10% of your Adjusted Gross Income AGI (7.5% if you or your spouse is 65 or older). Also, you need to have enough items to itemize on your Schedule A to benefit from this medical expense deduction. Until the sum of all your itemizable deductions exceeds your standard deduction amount, your refund won't change.
Keep in mind that a doctor approval documentation might be also requested by IRS.
