In order to be classified as "earned income", it must also be classified as "self employment" (a business). Do NOT check the box "This is not money earned as an employee or a self employed individual, it is from a sporadic activity or hobby (this is not common)".

Did you fill out Schedule C for it? Do you have any expenses? You need a Net Profit on Schedule C to show earned income. And you have to reduce the Net Profit by 1/2 the SE tax. What do you need to show earned income for?
