How do enter looking for employment for child care credit?

The dependent and childcare credit entries are in the "Deductions & Credits" tab.

1. Click Federal in the left hand menu

2. Click "Deductions & Credits" at the top of the page

3. Scroll down to "You and Your Family" section

4. Click "Show More"

5. Find the "Child and Dependent care credit"

6. Select "Start"

The page indicates that you enter expenses for periods when you worked or were a student. However, if you click on the hyperlink you will see a more detailed explanation that includes "while you looked for work".

Did you actually find a job? If you did not find a job and begin working, you will not get the childcare credit.
