Enter your W2 information just as it is.

You'll get Form 1099-SA if you paid for medical or other expenses from your HSA or MSA during the tax year.

Here's how to add it in TurboTax:

  1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  2. Select Search and enter 1099-SA.
  3. Select Jump to 1099-sa.  If that doesn't work, then: Click on Federal, then Wages & Income, then Less Common Income, and 1099-SA, HSA, MSA.  Click on Start.
  4. Answer the questions and continue through the screens.

HSA contributions through your employer, either as payroll deductions or employer match must be shown in box 12 code W on your W-2. This carries automatically to form 8889 on line 9 - under IRS rules payroll deductions and any employer match are deemed to be made by the employer because box 1 of the w-2 has been reduced by your contributions

there is no 1099-HSA

here are the forms that might exist

File form 1099-SA to report distributions from an HSA

File form 5498-SA to report contributions to an HSA

File form 8889 to report your HSA contributions and distributions

Refer to form W-2 for your HSA contributions
