I've read that there was a Child Tax Credit for Pregnant moms act introduced in 2022? Can this be claimed on 2022 taxes?

Yes, if there was a detectable heartbeat anytime between July 20, 2022 and December 31, 2022 you can claim an exemption for the unborn child on your 2022 Georgia state tax return. It's not a regular dependent. You enter it in a different place. In the Georgia state program you will come to a screen that says "Here's the income that Georgia handles differently." Under Miscellaneous, click the Start button for "Dependent Personal Exemption for Unborn Children."

(Thanks to Champion DoninGA for the instructions for entering the exemption.)

No. This act was introduced into the House in January, 2022, but it was never voted on. Please see Congress.gov.

If you are anywhere other than GA, you will have to wait to claim your child born in 2023 on your 2023 tax return next year.
