Can I deduct medical expenses I incurred after insurance payments even if I still owe balances to the hospital after 12/31?

You can deduct what you paid or put on credit cards ( bills put on CC are deemed a payment by you because the provider has been paid by the CC company so you no longer owe them but instead you owe the CC company)  in 2023 net of reimbursements. the fact the bill has not been paid in full does not matter.
