Can I claim property taxes that I paid on my mother's home? I paid the property taxes for my mother in 2019.

If you are on the mortgage or deed you can claim the property tax you paid; otherwise, no, you cannot.  You simply gave your mom a gift that she used to pay her own property tax.

According to the IRS, generally you can deduct property taxes only if you are an owner of the property. ... Non-owners paying property taxes for a property's owner cannot deduct those taxes on their own returns, unfortunately.
