Had all teeth extracted last year in preparation for implants. Are the costs of the extractions and temporal teeth deductible?

Yes.  The amount not paid by insurance is deductible, but only if you itemize.  Additionally, the amount you can deduct for medical expenses is limited to the amount in excess of 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI).  So, if your AGI is $100,000 and your medical expenses are $10,000 you can include $2,500 as an Itemized Deduction.
