First, it depends on whether you qualify as a dependent taxpayer. If you are a dependent, you cant claim education benefits on your tax return. However, if you are claimed as a dependent on your parent's tax return, they could claim an education credit for you.

12 of pub 501 to see if you meet the requirements to be claimed as a
dependent. Please note that there are requirements listed above the qualifying
child and qualifying relative sections, and those requirements must be met as

Second, if you dont qualify as a dependent taxpayer and you are pursuing your first undergraduate degree, you might qualify for the American Opportunity Credit, this is a partially refundable credit so you could benefit even though you dont have income. If you are not pursuing your first undergraduate degree, it would not benefit you to file a return because the other education benefits only reduce taxable income or reduce your tax liability.
