Wife has college loan debt
I had to file an injured spouse claim last year after my taxes were done because they kept our return to pay on her loans. Would filing a different way other than married filing jointly help with that or what should I do?

An Injured Spouse form can be filed with a joint return. It protects the injured spouse's portion of a joint refund. If your return has already been submitted and accepted, the Injured Spouse Form 8379 can be submitted by itself, by mail, with its supporting documents, without any need to amend your return.
