Why am I not qualifying for Tuition and Fees Deduction as well as American Opportunity Credit? I pay all my expenses, my parents do not claim me, and I was 24 in 2017.

There's two reasons, you're not getting the Tuition and fees deduction:
1. It doesn't exist anymore; having expired at the end of 2016'

2. Even when it existed, you were not allowed to "double dip". It was one or the other (TFD or AOC), but never both.

The AOC is the most generous education tax break
