This is for income not accounted for in his 1098-T. It is for scholarship, grant and in kind housing costs occurring during the course of a job he had at the college last summer. I followed some instruction I read online to do this using the section "Deduction and Credits". But that section doesn't ask any followup questions so this amount can be added as income. The dialog just ends after determining he isn't eligible for a tax break.
