What to enter for four years of college credit if the undergraduate of 4 years was completed in a different country?

I am paying tuition for dependent who has completed undergraduate of 4 years in a different country. This has not been claimed as the American Opportunity Credit. So am I eligible to claim the current Graduate school under four years of college credit. Also does this make me eligible for American Opportunity credit as well as Lifetime Learning Credit?

The American Opportunity Credit is only good for the first four years of post-secondary education, so your dependent will not qualify for that credit (regardless of the country where he/she attended university).

However, the Lifetime Learning Credit is available for graduate school, as is the Tuition & Fees Deduction.  TurboTax will calculate which benefit is more advantageous for you (you cannot claim both), based on your entries.

You'll enter the qualified education expenses by following the path Federal Taxes > Deductions & Credits > Education > Expenses & Scholarships (Form 1098-T).
