How old is your daughter? Checking the "student" box is only relevant if she is a college student.
If I took out her Bday on the previous page, the student box would appear. I would then check it and it would be fine after re -entering her bday. If I put in her birthday first, the box would not appear. Tried it several times and it was very consistent. Must be a software glitch. So, serendipitously solved.
To claim a dependent who's a full-time student, they must be under 19 or under 24 for at least five months at the end of the year (2025 in this case).
The full-time student checkbox will appear for children between the ages of 19 to 23 at the end of the year. If the child is over 18, the software will ask if they are a full-time student in the "Personal Info" or "Dependent" section.
If your child was under 19, it won't trigger this question since they qualify regardless of student status. The full-time student rule also doesn't apply if the child is permanently and totally disabled.
