If a grandparent funds a 529 and there are distributions for college, when we receive the 1098T who uses that on their return?

The 1099-Q is reported by the beneficiary of the 529.

You, as the owner of the 529, will get a courtesy copy of the 1099-Q. You do not need to report it on your tax return.
