Student loan interest deduction worksheet

I have a student loan that I pay which includes interest at 13%.  because the school was not a Title 4 school, I do not receive a 1098-E form.  Is there some way or some place that I can deduct that interest payment?

Student loan interest deduction worksheet

Yes. You can enter your student loan interest even if you didn't get a 1098-E from your lender.

Please follow the directions below to enter your student loan interest:

  1. Log in and click take me to my return (unless already in return).
  2. In the search box, type in 1098-E (upper- or lower-case, with or without the dash) and then click the "Jump to" link in the search results.
  3. Answer Yes to the question Did you make any student loan payments?
    • If you land on the Here's what you paid screen, you can either edit an existing payment or add a new one.
  4. Follow the instructions to enter your lender's name and amount of interest paid in 2017.
