How I can figure out if I used my husband's 1098-T form when I did our taxes?

Look back at your forms and see if you have a Form 8863 with the entries from the 1098-T. You should always copy a pdf to your computer and it wouldn't hurt to have a printed copy for easy access.

Form 8863 is used to calculate the tuition credit.  The credit will appear on lines 29 and 20 (from line 3 of Schedule 3) of form 1040
