quick question, in the past teachers got a 250$ out of pocket consideration, is that not the case for 2018?

The $250 educator expense allowance is still available for 2018.  This is reported on Schedule 1, though, therefore in order to include it on your return you would need to use TurboTax Deluxe or above.

1. From within your return, select the Federal tab on the left hand side of the screen.
2. Then select the Deduction and Credits tab at the top of the screen.
3. Scroll down to Employment Expenses.  select to Show More
4. Select to start Teacher (Educator) Expenses
