One of the conditions that must be met in order for a parent to be able to claim their child as a dependent is the support test. The support test is determined as follows: if the child provides more than 50% of their annual support, the child, and not the parent, can take the dependency exemption. If your daughter adds up her income and GI benefits, and it is over 50% of her annual support, she will claim herself. I have included both IRS test's below for your convenience:
