It comes up automatically in the dependent personal info interview, if your dependent is over 18. Go through the whole interview again. You may have to delete your dependent and re-enter.
I tried your suggested process (revisiting the interview) and even deleted the dependant and reentered. There is not a question (or box) to address the full-time student situation. The 'other dependent' is input automatically from the questions and answers given. This has got to be a glitch in the online 'On your own' premium product. I've no doubt the deluxe desktop version is probably correct. I'm very disappointed in the online product for its lack of transparency and ability to check and adjust at the form level. I won't be using this product next year (and I've used TT for the past 30+ years). I may have to switch platforms.
If your child is 17 or older "other" dependent is the correct classification, as they are not eligible to be a child dependent.
TurboTax will ask the full-time student question typically only either in the education section or when the dependent is 24 years of age or under.
I am having the same issue for Dependent 2. The option to select "Full-time Student" does not appear but it does for Dependent 1. I deleted D2 and re-entered and still will not come up. I added another Dependent just to see if it will work, nope. I have identical information entered for both Dependents. Very frustrating.
@user17728419973 @SusanY1 How old is Dependent 2? I think the post above might be a typo….when the dependent is 24 years of age or older. It should be UNDER 24, not older.
Both are under 20. Dependent 2 is 2 years younger than Dependent 1.
TurboTax will ask about student status, depending on the age of the dependent you entered (over 17). If your dependents are 20 and 18, you should see a box to check in TurboTax Online, and a question in TurboTax Desktop. Make sure you indicate their residence with you, and that you supported them.
If you're using TurboTax Online, clear your Cache and Cookies and re-enter your info, if you believe your results are not correct.

Oh then are they under 19? If one is under 19 it doesn’t need to know if they are a full time student. You can claim them. Only a full time student over 18 and under 24.
Yes, thanks! Finally figured it out. I adjusted the age of Dependent 2 to 19 and then the box regarding the full-time student appeared. Appreciate your reply to this issue. Spent way too much time trying to figure it about before asking the community. Wish the automated help replies would have provide this answer.
