Basically what my question asks. My semester cost 1634.70, my pell grant was 1312 and I paid the rest. From information I've researched, if box 1 is greater than box 5, then you do not need to add it. Is that correct? In addition to this, I am unsure why my school didn't report the 1634.70 amount in box.
No actually, it's the opposite. If Box 1 (Tuition) is greater than Box 5 (Scholarships), you may be eligible for an Education Credit.
Plus, don't forget to add Books and Other Fees as you go through the questions in the Education section.
If your school didn't put the correct amount of Tuition you paid in Box 1 (or any amount), as you enter your 1098-T, there is a box to check that 'the tuition I paid is different..' and you'll be able to enter the correct amount of tuition.
From the amounts in your question, you have paid $323 over your Scholarship and this doesn't include books/fees.

Hi! Thanks for replying! So just so I understand,
My cost of tuition for my 2019 semester was 1,635 ( The applied statement date hit on 12/31/2018-go figure) I should add to the "This is not what studentname..." section?
It is rather frustrating because none of my 1,312 pell-grant went to me since I was left to pay the remaining 323. If I enter as the 1098-T reflects I am being taxed on something we didn't use, just because the tuition amount hit on 12/31/2018
