My permanent address is different than the address where I pay rent. (I am a student) What should I put?

I live in the same state, I pay my own rent, I live in temporary housing, so my permanent address matches my license and all identification. But I pay rent at a different address.

Use the address that you want the IRS to use if they need to mail you a letter or a check.  If you are a student living away at school, that is considered to be a "temporary absence" from home; your parents can still say that you live at home on their tax return.
