My 21 year old completed one semester as a full time student and was away at Army boot camp for 19 weeks. Is he considered a full time student?

Yes, Your student is considered full time if the semester he/she completed was at least 5 months out of the year.  The 5 months do not have to be consecutive.

Make sure your child meets all the qualifications to be claimed as a dependent.

To check to make sure your student can be claimed, click on this helpful link to learn more: https://www.irs.gov/faqs/filing-requirements-status-dependents-exemptions/dependents-exemptions/depe...
