Is someone able to claim the 2020 Georgia Education Expense and receive a scholarship for a dependent?
This year TurboTax is asking to affirm "I didn't make a contribution for the direct benefit of any dependents." Donors are not able to designate a recipient, just a school, for their donation. Does that mean you are not "directly" benefiting when you are just donating generally to the school you child goes to and you get a scholarship?

Yes.
The credit is still valid.
As long as the student did not get the scholarship BECAUSE of your donation, your donation is still eligible for the credit.
