Is 1098 amounts deductible in foreclosure situation?

If I received a 1098 that has amounts in Boxes 5 and 10 that were paid by the mortgage company (I did not make any mortgage payments in 2016) are these amounts deductible by me?

If they were not paid by you, they are not deductible.  

This happens often on foreclosures.
