The tuition and fees deduction was indeed eliminated, but there are still the American Opportunity Credit and the Lifetime Learning Credit.

AOC is limited by income, though, and LLC is nonrefundable.

Thank you for responding .Not a dependent. I am 59. I googled and think maybe they eliminated the education deduction?
