I received my 2018 1098-T after e-filing my 2018 taxes.   Can I claim my book purchases in addition to the amount on the 1098-T? I need to file a 1040X. Will there be a charge for using Intuit to do that?

Yes, you may claim the cost of your books in addition to the amount on your Form 1098T.

Yes, you will need to file an amended tax return Form 1040X to claim the cost of your book purchases.

Your TurboTax Free Edition does not support Form 1040X.

To file an amended tax return you will have to upgrade your Edition of TurboTax and there will be a fee for this.
