I qualify for both the AOC and Lifetime Learning Credit. I do not want to use the AOC this year, I want LLC. How do I change it to use that one instead?

You can tell the program you would like to switch the type of Education Credits by following the steps below -

• Log into your account and select Take Me to My Return (you must click this before proceeding or you will not get the right link during the search)
• Click the search box (the magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner)
• Search for "letme" (one word)
• Click the "jump to letme" section
• It will bring you to the screen below "Education Credits and Deductions."  Follow the prompts and the next screen will let you switch the selection.
  

Note:  While you may have reasons to switch credits, keep in mind, the AOC is a refundable credit (so it will likely lead to a larger refund) and it is only available for the first four years of postsecondary education.
