I paid student loan interest on a student loan for my daughter and the loan is in my name only, can i claim it
I took a loan from the Dept. of Education Loan Servicing which was used for my daughters education. The loan is in my name only and I received a 1098-E. Can I claim the interest?

You can deduct student loan interest if the loan is in your name, and the student was either yourself, your spouse, or someone who was your dependent when the loan was made. You can continue to deduct interest even when the student is no longer your dependent.
