I paid for my college and the begging of the year of 2017 and books do i get to claim that

You should enter you Form 1098-T, which you should have received from the college for your tuition. If you haven't received this, you should contact your college.  You can enter the costs of your books when you input this forms. 

To enter: click the search button in the top right, when you are in your return and search "Form 1098-T" and click the first "jump to" link. You'll be taken to the section.
