I have made payments on my student loan debt but haven't needed to pay interest because the grace period has continued to be extended. What should I do for the 1098-E?

You are not required to enter the 1098E.  If you paid no interest on the student loan there is no advantage to entering it.

If you have an amount in Box 1 on your 1098-E, enter it as Student Loan Interest in TurboTax.

Though you haven't been required to pay interest, the payments you made may have been applied to interest anyway.

Here's How to Enter 1098-E.
