I don't understand what we're doing right now. Are we trying to fill out last year's taxes dated 2019 or the ones that are dated 2020?

The TurboTax online editions are Only for tax year 2020.

To complete and file a 2019 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the 2019 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2019 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

Online is only for 2020 returns now.  What is it asking about 2019?  Did you file a 2019 return?  There are several places where it will ask about 2019.  Like for the EIC credit.  You can use your 2019 income if it is more to qualify for a higher EIC credit.   And it will need your 2019 AGI to efile 2020 to verify you.
