I am attempting to add both of my 1098-T forms.First is from 2017 the other is from 2018. Detects the 2018 but not the 2017. How do I get my money for both the 1098-T?

The 2017 Form 1098-T can only be entered on a 2017 tax return, not on a 2018 tax return.

for 2018 you have to answer some questions about the 2017 form. you don't have to enter it for 2018.

I am aware of this I was referring to when you go to the amend it under the 2017 tax return tab

Every tax year is separate. You will need to file or amend your 2017 to include your 1098-T.

How am I supposed to do this? I can't afford to get TurboTax Plus

to amend a prior year, you need prior year tax software to prepare the revision,
or, a Grand Mastery of the tax forms to do it by hand.
