How much of a student loan payment on your 1098 E does it take to report on your tax returns?

You are eligible to deduct student loan interest of up to $2,500. You have to meet a few other criteria such as: not filing married filing separately or your modified AGI is less than: $80,000 if single, head of household, or qualifying widow(er); $165,000 if married filing jointly. TurboTax will take any information you give and make sure if you are eligible for the deduction that you get it.
