Hello so my job pays max 2500 reimbursement for school. my total on my 1098 was 2900. can i file for the 400 if thats what i covered out of my own pocket?

If you paid the $2,900 tuition to the school and reimbursed for $2,500 by your employer, you can use the remaining $400 toward your education credit. You should change the $2,900 on the Form 1098-T to $400. This will have the credit calculated correctly.
