I took classes online and got a 1098-T as usual, which I used to file my taxes over a week ago. However, my school sent an email a couple days later notifying me that my 1098-T may have been incorrect, and a revised one would be sent soon. I checked today, and sure enough, mine was changed by a couple hundred dollars.
I tried to match it to the return I had already filed, but I didn't see the actual amount from my forms, just a general "education credits" section and American Opportunity Credit. I think I am already receiving the max ($1k), so would it be worth it or even legally necessary to amend my return? Thank you!

I would not file an amended return. The IRS will receive the corrected 1098-T, and if the changes have any impact on your tax return (changes the amount of tax) they will notify you. So if the change was minimal, I would not amend.
