You don't have to but you may want to report interest from student loan since the student loan interest deduction is not part of your itemized deductions... it is a completely separate deduction that reduces your Adjusted Gross Income; it may be to your benefit to report it.
Student loan interest is deducted as follows:

- Education
- Select Student Loan Interest Paid (Form 1098-E)
