Can i enter my 1099-misc and my 1098-T at the same time?
If you mean on the same tax return, then - yes - you should include all of your tax information on one return. But, they get entered in separate sections of TurboTax.
The easiest way to enter your 1099MISC form is to use the search function
- Log into your account
- Click Take Me to My Return (must click this first)
- Use the search icon in upper right-hand corner (looks like a magnifying glass)
- Search for “1099MISC”
- Click the "jump to 1099MISC" link
- This will bring you to the 1099MISC summary page and you can add/edit your 1099-MISC forms here
Note: If your Form 1099MISC is for business income and expenses, you may also enter a Form 1099-MISC directly in the business section which you can reach by entering a search for "Schedule C"
The easiest way to get to a Form 1098-T and education expenses in TurboTax is to use the search feature.
- Log into your account and click Take Me to My Return (you must click this before performing the search below)
- Click the search icon (magnifying glass in top right-hand corner)
- Search for "1098T" and click the "jump to 1098T" link that appears
- This will bring you to the Education Expenses section where you can add a student and related Form 1098-T information
You can also find this section under Federal Taxes -> Deductions and Credits -> Education Expenses (you may have to click Check for More Credits and Show All to get the full list to appear) -> Expenses and Scholarships (Form 1098T) section
