No you cannot do that. If you want to amend your 2016 return to include the student loan interest you paid in 2016, you can do so, but you cannot include it on your 2017 tax return.

No you cannot do that. If you want to amend your 2016 return to include the student loan interest you paid in 2016, you can do so, but you cannot include it on your 2017 tax return.
