Am I able to list donations to someone's school scholarship project that are helping kids in need?

I bought about $200 worth of toys for a high schooler's scholarship to help give them out to kids in her area for Christmas.

To deduct a charitable donation it must be made to a recognized charity and you should have an acknowledgment from the charity.  The deduction would be an itemized deduction on Sch A. You total itemized deduction would have to be greater than your standard deduction to benefit you.
